Agile: Customer Collaboration

Yet another part of the Agile Software Development manifesto is “Customer collaboration over contract negotiation” which I take to mean keep the project literally agile.  It makes sense that often the customer doesn’t really know what they want until you start building.  It is also try that engineers think the customer wants one thing, only to find out they really want something else.  Keeping projects flexible also removes the risk for both sides, but the downside is there really can be no fix price contracts.  Time and materials projects in theory should not be as profitable as fix price jobs.
